Clare stretches from the Shannon estuary to the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher, bordered by Galway, Tipperary and Limerick, and LocalJams holds 43 venues for it. Ennis, the county town, has the largest cluster with 20 venues on file, followed by Ennistymon, Miltown Malbay, Carrigaholt, Doolin and Tuamgraney. Around 50 gigs are listed over the coming months, about half of them ticketed, and folk is the most common tag by a wide margin.
Pot Duggans on New Road in Ennistymon is the county's busiest listed venue, with a folk-led programme that opens with Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin and continues with Kean Kavanagh, SAOL and a night billed simply as TRAD. Glór, the arts centre on the Causeway Link in Ennis, carries the touring shows: the Cash Returns Show, The Piano Man with John Forde and The 52nd Street Band, the 80s Icons Show, Ralph McTell and Declan O'Rourke. On the coast, Kennys Bar in Lahinch lists a run of ticketed midweek gigs including Mik Pyro, Saltaire and Driven Snow with Dave Hope, and Hotel Doolin has Trevor Sexton, Don Stiffe and Tara Howley sharing a November night. The Queens Hotel in Ennis carries the Ennis Trad Festival weekend in early November, with late-night shows followed by a Trad Disco.
Moroney's Bar on Lower Market Street in Ennis is where the open sessions live: a Midweek Folk Open Session on Wednesdays at 9pm plus themed Thursday and Friday sessions covering blues, guitar club and Franco-Latin rock. Crusheen Community Centre and Treacys West County in Ennis round out the calendar with occasional concerts.
