Free live music every night is the draw at The Welcome Inn in Cork city, a traditional pub where a rotating cast of local singers and duos play ballads, folk and sing-along standards from around 9.30pm, later at the weekend. The same faces come round week after week, among them Fireside Folk, Ballads & Banjos, Tony Milner, Jack Ahern, Trevor Osborne and Cathal Fitz, with an occasional jazz night and lunchtime sets. Nothing is ticketed and nothing needs booking; it is a pub session in the old style.
