Monroe's Tavern on Dominick Street Upper is one of Galway's busiest music pubs, with live music every night from around 9pm and a free traditional session on Friday afternoons from 4.30pm. Most nights are free and feature local bands or a songwriters' open mic, but it also hosts ticketed shows from touring acts, and Camille O'Sullivan, Paddy Casey, Tolü Makay, Bricknasty, Le Boom and Flyte have all played here, alongside a steady run of tribute nights. Folk and rock dominate, with trad on the afternoon slots.
